Our telehealth appointments are available by phone or video chat. Our virtual appointments connects you with our doctor 7- days a week. Our doctors can help you with prescription refills, minor illnesses or infections. Teledocs are convenient because you don’t have to take time off work or find childcare, and you can do them from the comfort of your own home. To use the service, patients simply “book a telehealth appointment”. During the telehealth visit, you’ll be able to discuss your symptoms and concerns just like you would during an in-person visit. And, just like with an in-person visit, your doctor may recommend medication or other treatment options. Teledocs are a great way to get the care you need without having to leave home. Teledoc visits are convenient, and available anytime, anywhere.
Urgent care services offered through telehealth include common illness and injury experienced by most patients. Including certain prescriptions such as birth control, medication refills, or antibiotics for minor infections.
Most common conditions:
Severe allergic reactions cannot be treated virtually. They have a sudden onset of severe symptoms and can lead to anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is a severe reaction that can happen in minutes or second when a person is exposed to something they are allergic to. Symptoms include a sudden drop in blood pressure, narrowing airways that block breathing, rapid or weak pulse, skin rash, and nausea and vomiting. Common causes of anaphylaxis include some medications, certain foods, insect bites or venom from a poisonous animal or severe latex allergies. This condition includes immediate injection with epinephrine. If you do not have access to your own prescribed epinephrine pen (epi pen) you will need to go to the emergency room immediately or call 911 if you do not have safe transportation.
Behavioral health via televisit has benefited mental health patients by offering access to therapy from the comfort, privacy, and convenience of their own home. Patients can receive individual teletherapy with a doctor including medication management and one-on-one therapy. We are here to give you the care you need when access to therapy is as easy as logging in.
Most common conditions:
Our doctors are here to offer telehealth for minor dermatological concerns. Telehealth makes it easy for patient to get care for skin, hair, and nail conditions without leaving their home. It also gives the patient the opportunity to see a doctor quickly.
Most common conditions:
Whether you are being plagued by a acne or are worried about a changing mole, you can get fast care for your dermatologist needs. It is important to get an existing mole checked if it is changing shape or looks uneven, changes color (gets darker or consist of more than one color), begins to itch/crust/get flakey/ or bleed, or becomes more raised from the skin. You should also be looking for asymmetry which is caused when one half of the mole does not match the appearance of the other half. The border of the mole is blurred, irregular, or ragged. The color has different shades of tan, black, white, blue, brown, or red. An immediate virtual appointment is perfect for easing your worries or for the early detection of skin cancer.
While teledoc is a convenient way to get medical care, it’s important to remember that not all conditions can be treated effectively through this method. In general, teledoc is best for minor health concerns that can be diagnosed and treated without the need for in-person examination. That means virtual care is often ideal for issues like sinus infections, pink eye, and urinary tract infections. However, virtual visits are not appropriate for more serious medical problems. If you are experiencing chest pain, for instance, you should go to the emergency room instead of trying to get care through teledoc. Similarly, if you have a complex medical history or are taking multiple medications, teledoc may not be the best option for your first appointment but once seen in person by our doctor, you could be moved to follow up virtual appointments in the future. In these cases, it’s always best to see a doctor in person so that they can fully assess your condition and ensure that you’re getting the care you need.
Medical conditions which cannot usually be treated via telehealth include the following life threatening situations:
Receiving telehealth for psychotherapy has helped many patients get the care they need in the privacy of their own homes. Although, a certified therapist is always here for any concerns you may have about your cognitive wellbeing, there are a few disorders which cannot be treated virtually.
Some medication refills can be conducted via televisit. This is typically the case if your provider knows your medical history, has a rapport with you, or you are getting a refill. But, for the safety of the patient there are several medications which cannot be prescribed through virtual visit.
This short list of prescriptions is not typically prescribed over a digital interface. But each prescription is at the discretion of the physician.
some sprains and strains – such as those caused by falling on a foot or twisting a knee – are accidental and difficult to prevent. Others – such as those caused by lifting heavy objects the wrong way – can be prevented with proper training. The National Institutes of Health recommend stretching prior to physical activity, as well as wearing protective equipment during play to prevent sports injuries. It is also important to avoid overuse injuries by taking the time to rest tired and sore muscles.
